TALKING STICK STRATEGY EFFECTIVENESS ON SPEAKING SKILL
bstract:Students in Indonesiastruggle with English pronunciation,fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and conversational. They found difficulties tocommunicateinEnglish,includingahy and lackof:confidence,understanding of the words, knowledge of what they want to say, interactionbetweentheteacherandstudentsintheclassroom.Theresearchersuseda quasi-experimental approach with a quantitative approach in thisresearch, which aimedto measure the effectiveness of talking stick strategy onstudents' speaking skills. The population was eleventh grade students of SMK Baburrahmahand it took 60 students asresearch samples. It showed thatthe t-test result was higher than t-table which was3,893 > 2,000, while the mean scores before implementing the talking stick strategy was 68,26 and afterimplementing the talking stick strategy was 77,33. It proved thatimplementing the talking stick strategy was effective onspeakingskillsof eleventhgradersatSMKBaburrahmah.Keywords:Talking stick, strategy, speaking skil
